PPG Wave 2.3
This PPG was recapped, the power supply almost totally rebuilt, EL-foil and inverter replaced, The display was upgraded with a new 40x2 character LCD, Keyboard bushings replaced. However it was in nice cosmetic condition.
A close up of the new LCD in place. Only down side was that the EL-foil light got darker with the new display.
Very nice cosmetic condition.
The TAS board.
A new EMI-filter. I replaced the old one because it made the machine turn on and off rapidly.
New caps in place and the new inverter for the EL-foil. What is not shown here is the rectifier bridge that also was replaced by a new one. This is a part that often fails and when it does it makes the numbers in the analog display flicker back and forth very fast, almost like someone is turning the knobs of the analog interface. This rectifier is only for the 5volts, if replaced the rectifier needs to be 6 amps or more because the 5volt regulator has a max output of 5 amps.
Old caps of the voice cards.
New caps in place.
