PPG Wave 2

A not so nice Wave 2. This one had serious problems not only was it painted white by someone, it also was in bad shape electronically. This PPG Wave 2 got the usual treatment by me, recapping, keyboard renewal, Cosmetic upgrades and new potentiometers for the analog control panel.

Rust ? In a synthesizer ?

Some of the Knobs where stuck, in order to remove them I had to break the potentiometer axis and install all new potentiometers in their place.

What where they thinking ? Will it sound like a Fairlight if painted white ?

Nice ..... Nooot.

So, now every PCB was removed into the baskets. Now the cosmetical upgrade can begin.

Only this remained of the white paint after removal of it.

J-wires where broken here and there, they had to be re-soldered. In this picture we see the old solder joints.
