PPG Wave 2

This PPG Wave 2 had all it's caps replaced, New keyboard bushings and cosmetic upgrade.

Old cap....

Dusty PCB

The IO card.

TAS board and display.

Keyboard was in bad shape.

Dust and scratches.

From Keyboard and towards the back of the Wave 2 we can see the 4 voice cards, memory card and lastly the I/O card.

A lot of dust inside this PPG as well.

Looks OK from this angle ... but .......

Photographed from this angle you can see the scratches on top of it

Seeing it from this angle it might seem to be in nice condition.

The metal covering the LCD was repainted due to rust marks on the metal.

New tantalum caps

New electrolytic caps for the analog interface board.

Dust is cleaned away and new cap in place.

Shiny new cap.

Display looking good.

Keyboard was lifted higher so that it was in level with the bend section.

Keys more straight than before.

No more scratches. Nope this PPG Wave did not have the "PPG Wave 2" print on the back of it.

A final picture of this restored PPG Wave 2. Original factory sounds where loaded into it and the new battery feeds the memory with fresh three Volts. The Wave 2 uses a non rechargeable 3Volt lithium battery unlike the Wave 2.3 which uses a 4,6 Volt rechargeable battery.
